Components

Once you have opened the packaging, make sure that the following components are present:

  • Clock
  • Charging cable
  • Plug
  • User manual

If a component is missing from the packaging, you can request it by e-mail at support@james.care request at any time.

Recharge

Connect the charging cable to the power adapter and plug the power adapter into a power socket. Then connect the magnetic charging contacts on the charging cable to the charging contacts on the back of the watch.

Charge the clock for at least one hour.

Activate

Around the JAMES safety watch
To be able to use the clock, it must have an active subscription. If their clock is not yet activated, they must purchase an ABO. Follow the link james.care/activation or call us.

New watches show the IMEI number of the watch on the screen. This must be entered when activating the ABOS in the web shop. You will also find the IMEI on the watch packaging. After activation, the watch shows the time and date after a few minutes.

Web portal

In the course of activation, a user was created for you for the Web portal and the App created. The access data was sent to you by e-mail. Settings can be made and communication with the clock can take place in the web portal / app.

  1. Open the JAMES APP or the JAMES Webportal in your
    Internet browser and log in with your user data. Click on "Alarm chain".
  2. In the "Alert chain" area, you can add new contacts, edit existing ones or change their order.

24/7 emergency call centre

Should you additionally require our 24/7 emergency call centre please contact us by telephone. In the event of an emergency, the emergency call centre still needs some health data and information about the person wearing the watch (e.g., the name of the person wearing the watch): Are there any chronic diseases? Are any medicines being taken? Where is the spare key?).

Switch on

Press the black button on the clock until the screen switches on. After a short start-up process, the time appears.

Wake up

If the clock is not used for ten seconds, the screen goes into sleep mode and turns black. You can wake up the clock again by briefly pressing the black button and use all functions.

Locating

The position of the clock can be requested at any time in the JAMES APP / web portal. Click on "Menu" under "Map View" in the JAMES APP / web portal and then select "Request Position Update".

Repeat the position query every five minutes until the position of the clock shown on the map matches your real position.

Navigation

By swiping sideways on the switched-on display or briefly pressing the red head, you navigate through the functions of your watch.

Depending on the configuration, you can access the functions:

- Time
- Pedometer
- Text messages
- Memories
- Weather

Send alarm

Trigger alarm

Press the red button for several seconds until you hear an acoustic signal. The alarm can be cancelled in the first few seconds by pressing "Cancel".

Position determination

Your position is automatically determined during the first few minutes of the alarm and sent by JAMES APP-, Web portal- and SMS notification sent to your helpers/contacts. In addition, in the JAMES APP / in the Web portal further positions can be requested at any time.

Alarm received

When an alarm is triggered, your contacts are notified via phone call, SMS or e-mail. The type of contact can be set in the JAMES APP / Web portal set
can be made. The alarm call includes a tape announcement and is answered with the Key 2 adopted.

A telephone connection to the clock is then automatically established. If the call remains unanswered, the alarm is forwarded to your next contact person. The alarm SMS contains the telephone number of the clock and a link to the position.


Time

In the unit settings of the JAMES APP / Web portal the time display can be set to either analogue or digital.

Here you can see your current daily steps. The steps can be viewed in the APP / Web portal can be queried at any time. Every night the counter is reset to 0.

Via the JAMES APP / Web portal messages can be sent to the clock. These can be answered positively (tick) or negatively (X) on the clock.

Memories

Memories can be made in the JAMES APP / Web portal can be created and appear on the clock at the set time with a sound and vibration signal. Past and future reminders can be viewed in the reminder function by swiping up and down.

weather forecast for your region. Swipe up to see the weather forecast
of the following days.

When 15% battery power is remaining, there is a warning on the screen with sound and vibration.

Switch off

Press and hold the black button on the clock until the question "Switch off?" appears on the clock screen. Confirm with "OK" to switch off the clock.

Phone book

With the JAMES tariff extension Phone book you can call up to three contacts for a total of 60 minutes per month from the clock. Each minute or part thereof is counted as a full call minute.

Runaway protection

With the tariff extension Fall & Dementia you can find in the JAMES APP / Web portal Define movement zones. When you leave the zones, the clock automatically triggers an alarm.

Inactivity alarm

With the tariff extension
Fall & Dementia it is possible to work in the APP activate an inactivity alarm. If this is activated, an alarm is triggered if the watch wearer does not move for a longer period of time. Before this, the watch answers the question "Are you ok? If this is not confirmed, the alarm is triggered.
